Serious Mistakes – Unjustified Killings

Going away for all day; i.e., will probably spend the rest of their lives in prison.

Father and son kill neighbor over trash

Aaron Howard was shot and killed Sept. 1 in the alley behind his home on Don Juan Street. His two neighbors, Johnnie and Michael Miller, have been charged with the murder.

Howard’s fiancee, Kara Box, shot the deadly dispute on her cell phone and released it to KTXS.

  1. The video show a highly agitated man who is now deceased threatened to kill the two men numerous times.
I’d be surprised if the shooters get convicted in Texas. But dealing with the legal system even if you win is far worse than swallowing your pride.

    1. As someone commented, “The list of things Texans think they can kill someone for is long and often erroneous.”

Texas; it’s not just a State, it’s a state of mind.

      1. What those guys showed wasn’t a state of mind but a full blown lunacy.
I assume Texans are a proud bunch and rightfully so. These nutcases are to be nominated for a Darwin Award!

  2. The whole video. Morons; they’re all morons.

  3. “… threatened to kill”… okay, that’s 1. Intent…
Where is the Capability and Opportunity?
You need all 3 to have any chance at a ‘justified homicide’.
Amazing how stupid some folks can be… stunning!

  4. This also strikes me as one of the only examples of likely Trump voters / NRA members committing these types of criminal stupidity.*

*First to admit, I’m probably just blind to reality given how little of it I’ve actually been exposed to in this realm.

I’ve been to jail for fighting, both initiating and retaliating, and I know how the system works. Without the video, IMO, as long as they had their story straight, it’s entirely possible these two would get manslaughter or possibly have an affirmative defense of self-defense. With the video, I think they’re completely fucked. AND, in present company, I have to agree with, or at least not be all broken up about, the death sentence already imposed on the lumbering, bat-armed, threatening big man who was stupid enough to stand no-man’s-land ground.

  5. After watching the video numerous times, I have come to the conclusion that these two men are idiots, but within their rights with Texas laws. They stand there, guns not pointed for AT LEAST two minutes while their neighbor threatens to kill them. Notice how the now deceased man continues to act aggressively while the two with the guns are calm. At the 2:08 mark, you can visibly see the husband push his wife out of the way to get closer to the men, and that is when they open fire. Both parties are morons, but the law is the law, and these men more than likely will not be found guilty in a court in Texas.

    1. I sure hope you’re wrong… and I bet you do, too. Sad Training video (so many of these mostly surveillance videos illustrate the idiocy of human relations more than most would care to admit to).
Again, 2. Capability – was not there (1 very large man with empty hands shown threatening to kill 2 not-very-small guys EACH WITH A GUN). He can talk all he wants (or wanted, since he’s taken the room-temperature-challenge).
      3. Opportunity is only somewhat there… he’s within “Tueller Drill Distance” at all times, but again… what opportunity was there against TWO GUYS WITH GUNS?
You need all 3 (1. Intent, 2. Capability, 3. Opportunity) in order to have a chance at Justified Homicide… even in Texas ya’ll.
StandYourGround Michael Drejka in Florida has a better chance of ‘Justified Homicide’ than these 2 guys do, and many have commented on his shooting video as a training opportunity for others to ALSO learn what NOT TO DO!
